EMERIA — Explorers combing the surface and catacombs of Zendikar have found enigmatic hedrons all over the plane in varied shapes. Some are cubes. Many have eight sides. Some have four, like little pyramids, and some have been found to have 20 sides like a great ball.
But now, leading explorer Jadis Rann says that the search is on for a mysterious and fabled “secret hedron” that’s never before been encountered. Rann said that leading theories have proposed a new hedron, one hidden from the minds and eyes of mortals.
“We believe this ’secret hedron’ may have an unusual number of sides — possibly 11, or perhaps 13,” Rann told The Magic Lampoon.
“Wherever this ’secret hedron’ may lie — actually, I prefer the term ‘lost hedron’ — we believe the gods have gone to great lengths to keep it a secret from men, elves and the other intelligent races,” he said.
The idea is not without its detractors. Since the mysterious hedrons of Zendikar always have the same number of sides as a regular solid, of which there are four, the idea of a “secret hedron” with around 11 or 13 sides strikes some researchers as impossible.
“The notion of this ‘fifth hedron’ is as absurd as the notion of a fifth regular solid,” leading mathematician Fizzban the Wizard told The Magic Lampoon.
“Such a shape, by its very existence, would destroy the universe,” Fizzban said.
“Imagine its sides. They wouldn’t even be triangles or squares. What would they be?” he said.
Rann said that explorers are searching urgently for the unknown hedron because he and others are afraid it will fall into the wrong hands.
“The important thing to realize is, if you were to find this missing hedron — don’t touch any of its 11 sides. We still don’t know what any of the hedrons are for. The gods kept the missing hedron secret from mortal men for a reason,” he said. “This is why our minds are unable even to conceive of its 11- or 13-sided existence,” he added.
“For all we know, the missing hedron may be a key that unlocks total annihilation of Zendikar or even beyond,” Rann said. “Perhaps it’s like a great die, and when it finally rolls a 13, the apocalypse begins.”

Also, when you roll 13, and the apocalypse happens and you discard your spells, you get to put two +1/+1 counters on it.
Very nicely done. If you don’t know the connection between polyhedrons and gods, you need to watch some Cosmos.
