RENTON, Wash. — Mark Rosewater of Wizards of the Coast announced Sunday that the band Rush is now the official music of Magic: the Gathering, and that the band should be listened to as much as possible while playing Magic.
Rosewater said that the music of Rush was a perfect choice because the band’s fans and Magic’s fans have the same demographic.
“Basically, the demographic of both Rush and Magic is about 90 percent male,” Rosewater said in a news conference Sunday.
“And when I say 90 percent male, I mean 99.7 percent male,” he added.
“Angry loner male,” he explained.
Rosewater said that not all Rush albums were to be considered the official music of Magic — mostly “2112″ through “Moving Pictures.”
“You know, the good stuff,” Rosewater said.
“With a little bit of ‘Fly by Night’ and ‘Caress of Steel’ thrown in there in certain instances,” he added.
Rosewater explained that not only would Rush be the official music of Magic, but certain songs or album sides would be the official songs or album sides of certain formats.
“For example, the official song of Ice Age Block Constructed is now ‘By-Tor and the Snow Dog,’” Rosewater said.
“‘By-Tor! … And! The Snow! Dog!’” he sang.
“Similarly, the official song of Lorwyn Block Constructed is now ‘The Trees,’ while for Kamigawa block it’s ‘Xanadu,’” he said.

You forgot Witch Hunt… but it was part of the “Fear” series, so maybe you were just afraid.
