RENTON, Wash. — Members of the Magic: The Gathering Research and Development staff were at first excited but then disappointed Monday evening when they thought they heard players clamoring for Wizards of the Coast to print more Pro Player cards.

“Hey, do you hear that? I think I hear a clamor out in the hall! And I think it’s a clamor for more Pro Player cards!” said Aaron Forsythe of Research and Development on Monday.

Excited R&D members rushed out into the hallway to discover that there was no such sound.

“Oh, shoot, it’s just a maintenance worker running a vacuum cleaner again,” Forsythe said.

“Hello!” said maintenance worker Curtis Lin, 57, smiling, nodding and waving his hand.

Lin then returned to focusing on his work while R&D members filed back into their offices.
