From this we can learn kilometer-high Eldrazi are scared shitless of horny Elementals…
Silly Intimidate. It’s a catch-all phrase to explain the couple instances of white- and red-based fear that have popped up (mostly in Time Spiral block), but has the potential to be worse than Fear. Plus, Intimidate doesn’t sound as flavorful as Fear.
It would have made more sense to just create 4 more key words for the remaining colors. Hell white has Seeker already, so it they needed was 3 in color flavor words. Intimidate works for red, Infiltrator for blue and Stalking for green.
Maro has said keywords conserve brainspace, but there can’t be too many or players get confused/overwhelmed.
Intimidate conveys the flavor of Fear very effectively, and all colors have creatures you could call “intimidating.” But an Archon is intimidating in a different way from a Horror or a Sphinx, so I think there’s plenty of flavor there.
And having Fear, as many have said before, makes it sound like the creature itself is afraid.
This will be great against the Eldrazi.
I don’t think it’s intimidate. What is something that only artifacts and giant monsters from beyond space can’t experience? That’s right, horniness. Thus, intimidate should be renamed to “Hotness” for this card.
yea see my problem with intimidate is that in it’s actual effect fear makes sense and intimidate doesn’t. why is an elf not scared of a worm, why is a goblin not scared of a big ass ogre, but black creatures have every reason not to be scared, they are usually undead or something or have short lifespans anyway.
my point is I think if they really wanted other colors to have this mechanic they should have just printed other color creatures with fear. but no they wanted to give all those goddamn artifacts something special, damn it isn’t metal craft and affinity for artifacts enough?!?!
at least more specific artifact effects instead of being all weird and stealing blacks ability!
agh all this damn colorless shit is hurting my head! it’s as bad as fucking snow lands.
I’m just glad I have use for my didgeridoo now
